Volunteering

Volunteering is an activity that involves spending time, unpaid, doing something that aims to benefit the environment or someone (individual or group) other than, or in addition to, close relatives.

A recent study done by the University of Wales, Lampeter has shown a clear link between volunteering and good health both for the volunteers and health service users.

Volunteering can increase a volunteers longevity, improve their mental health, keep them at a better fitness level, and allow them to cope better with illness when it occurs.  Volunteering can also have a positive impact on many factors that affect those receiving the help.  It has been shown to increase their self-esteem, embracement of healthy behaviors and a higher compliance with regards to their medical treatment.

Volunteering at Florida Medical Clinic Foundation of Caring is easy, just provide us with your contact information, any specific areas of interest, and we will contact you.
